Current 2021 - 2022 Co-Ed Hockey Programs

 

 

Learn to Skate / Learn to Play Hockey
Learn to Skate (“LTS”) / Learn to Play Hockey (“LTPH”) are instructional programs that run in three 8 week periods over the hockey season.  Sessions typically start in September, November and January   Sessions are held once a week on either Saturday or Sunday.  The goal of the program is to teach its participants the fundamentals of ice skating by letting them enjoy a playgroup environment that is safe, noncompetitive and encouraging enough to give children the confidence they need so they can skate and learn to play hockey.  Players may transfer to any hockey program at anytime during the season when appropriate for his/her development with the approval of the LTS/LTPH/Mosquito Director.  Tuition will be moved and pro-rated for any transfers within any Junior Crusader Programs.

Equipment Needed for LTS:

• Skates

• Helmet – with face shield

• Elbow and knee pads

• Gloves

• Full Hockey Equipment

 

 

 

Mosquitoes

Birth years 2010 – 2013; outside these birth years must get approval from Mosquito Director
The Mosquito program is designed to take kids who have graduated from LTS/LTPH and an excellent way for both parents and children to be introduced to the game of hockey.  The program is a 26 week season and meet twice per weekend for skills sessions and cross-ice scrimmages.  The program starts in October and runs through March.  Players may transfer to any hockey program at any time during the season when appropriate for his/her development with the approval of the LTS/LTPH/Mosquito Director. Tuition will be moved and pro-rated for any transfers within any Junior Crusader Programs.

8U (Mites)

Birth years 2013 - 2014
The 8U program includes skaters from total beginners to players with 1-3 years of experience.  The season begins in August and runs through April with practices twice per week.  Teams will have the opportunity to play approximately 22 cross-ice games in the North Star Youth League. All games (home and away) are played at the North Star Youth Forum in Westborough. These teams will get roughly 2-3 practices and a game a week for a total of roughly 80 practices and 22 games from August through April. There will also be one 8U team that will participate in the Valley Hockey League Hybrid Division. This team will participate in half-ice games for the first half of the season and full-ice games in the second half. They will play 25 games plus playoffs and also get roughly 80 practice from August through April.

10U (Squirts)

Birth years 2011 - 2012
Our 10U program will participate in the Valley Hockey League which will provide 35 games plus playoffs. These teams get roughly 80 practices from August through April.

12U (Peewees)

Birth years 2009 – 2010
Our 12U program will participate in the Valley Hockey League which will provide 35 games plus playoffs. These teams get roughly 80 practices from August through April.

14U (Bantams)

Birth years 2007 – 2008
Our 14U program will participate in the Valley Hockey League which will provide 35 games plus playoffs. These teams get roughly 80 practices from August through April.

16U (Midgets)

Birth years 2005 – 2006
Our 16U program will participate in the Valley Hockey League.
