2020-2021 Season Girls Hockey Skills Sessions with CK Hockey Skills
Our Girls Hockey Skills Sessions provide a positive and engaging atmosphere for female hockey players ages 5-15 to develop and improve their skills.
All sessions will be led by Chris Kyne, founder of CK Hockey Skills. Kyne currently coaches at the U8 girls level with the Junior Crusaders and with the Junior Crusaders Girls Developmental Hockey Clinic.
He was an assistant coach for the Fitchburg State Men's Ice Hockey team from 2006-2020. He has also worked as an on-ice skills instructor for Peak Performance since 2015.
Each session will offer instruction based upon each player's age, skill, and development goals while building confidence and developing skills to improve your overall game.
Sessions are conducted in small groups of 10 players to minimize idle time and maximize reps in each drill.
Each session will focus on:
1) Skating (balance, edgework, accelleration, stops/starts and speed)
2) Puck Control (stick handling)
3) Passing/Shooting
4) Small Ice Games
Sessions are available throughout March and April at both Horgan and Buffone rinks.
Sign-ups are on an individual basis, allowing you to customize a training schedule that works for you.
Sessions will be offered at two levels:
"Beginner" - For players who have 2 years or less playing experience and have completed at least one session of Learn to Play Hockey, Mosquitoes, or Girls' Clinic.
"Advanced" - For players who have more than two years of hockey experience and are looking for an opportunity to catch up and/or develop their current skills.
