The Junior Crusaders Learn to Skate (LTS) Program is designed to teach your child the fundamentals of skating while advancing at their own pace. Skaters will gain the skills needed to begin the next step, which is our Learn to Play Hockey Program. Learn to Skate is offered in four - 8 week sessions starting in September, November, January, and March. Each session meets once per weekend for 50 minutes. Beginner level. Recommended for ages 4 and up.
The Junior Crusaders Learn to Play Hockey (LTPH) Program focuses on strengthening hockey skating skills and introduces skaters to more elements of the game hockey including stick control and puck handling. These skills are imperative for our next step in development, Mosquitos. Learn to Play Hockey is offered in four - 8 week sessions starting in September, November, January, and March. Each session meets once per weekend for 50 minutes. Intermediate level. Recommended for ages 5 and up. At least one prior session of a Learn to Skate program is also recommended.
Equipment Needed for LTPH:
Full Hockey Equipment (Skates, Helmet with Face Shield, Elbow and Shin Pads, Chest Proctector, Hockey Pants, Hockey Gloves, Stick)
The final level of development is our Mosquito program. Here, confident skaters and hockey players will put all their skills together and meet twice per weekend for skills sessions and cross-ice scrimmages. They will be exposed to even more fundamentals by getting on ice twice per week and engaging in "real game situations." Our Mosquito program is 26 weeks and offers open enrollment from September thru March with a prorated tuition based on your players date of registration. Advanced level. Recommended ages 6 and up. At least one session of a Learn to Play Hockey program is also recommended.
Equipment Needed for Mosquitos:
Full Hockey Equipment (Skates, Helmet with Face Shield, Elbow and Shin Pads, Chest Proctector, Hockey Pants, Hockey Gloves, Stick)
Instructional programs (LTS and LTPH) held once a week for the 8 week sessions
Mosquitos program is held twice a week throughout the 26 week session
Goals are to teach fundamentals of ice skating/hockey in a group environment

For the safety of your child, BIKE HELMETS ARE NOT ALLOWED
Players may transfer to any hockey program at anytime during the season when appropriate for his/her development with the approval of the LTS/LTPH/Mosquito Director. Tuition will be moved and pro-rated for any transfers within any Junior Crusader Programs
Participants may begin sessions at any time with the approval of the Develoment Director
